Who We Are
Jack “Trey” Goodwin, III, Esq.
Trey is the Managing Partner of Atlanta Adoption & Family Law. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Prior to forming Atlanta Adoption & Family Law, Trey was a senior Staff Attorney for the Honorable Frank C. Mills, III, in the Superior Court of Cherokee County. While there, he reviewed and advised attorneys on over 150 adoptions. He describes his experience there as that of a “devil’s advocate;” making sure every aspect of each adoption was correct and anticipating potential problems that could be on the horizon.
Currently, Trey serves as an Associate Magistrate Judge for Cherokee County; a position that provides him a unique perspective to the practice of law. Trey is licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia, and is admitted to practice law in the Georgia State Courts, Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Trey lives in Canton, Georgia with his wife, Holly. In his spare time he enjoys attending Florida State University sporting events, traveling, helping out in the local community, and attending Woodstock City Church.
